ALLIANCE ON MENTAL HEALTH

Racine, WI – The Alliance on Mental Health is an independent organization that provides mental health advocacy, education, and support to all adversely impacted by mental illness in Racine County at no cost. After being founded in 1979, its mission is to provide education, support, and public awareness so all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. The Alliance on Mental Health has made recovery a reality for those making the difficult first step.

BODWÉWADMIMWEN ÈTHE TÉK, INC.

Wabeno, WI – Their name translates to “The Center for the Potawatomi Language.” Since forming in 2020, Bodwéwadmimwen Ėthë Ték mission is to preserve and assist in the use of the Potawatomi language. Their vision is to provide the means that all Potawatomi people will be speakers of Bodwéwadmimwen. To help do this they have published three books authored by a fluent first language Potawatomi speaker and plans to publish Zoom videos for online language classes. They also propose to make these available on Facebook.

DANCEWORKS

Milwaukee, WI – After being formed over 30 years ago, Danceworks mission is to enhance joy, health, and creativity by engaging the community through movement and creative arts. To do this Danceworks has taken arts learning beyond the theatre and studio and into the community by creating work that resonates with diverse groups of people. Their organization has served more than 50,000 children, adults, and seniors though a variety of choreography and performances.

GIRLS ON THE RUN OF SE WISCONSIN

Milwaukee, WI – Since 1996 Girls on the Run have provided girls ages 8-13 with or without disabilities a variety of evidence-based programs that inspire them to build their confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. Their dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills that show the important connection between physical and emotional health. For example, at the end of the season a group completes a 3-mile run with their coach that provides a tangible sense of accomplishment.

KENOSHA ACHIEVEMENT CENTER, INC.

Kenosha, WI – For nearly 60 years this organization has been creating opportunities for personal growth and success for people with special needs. The Center does this by removing barriers, changing perceptions, and building confidence. Their children’s services provide a supportive and enriching environment that fosters each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Their adult services focus on personal choice and individual growth, as well as the opportunity to learn practical job skills.

MILWAUKEE TEACHER EDUCATION CENTER

Milwaukee, WI – This organization was formed in 1996 that supports children and their learning by offering educators certification programs, professional workshops, and face-toface instructional coaching. Their focus is to increase support and retain teachers and school leaders across Wisconsin and identify results-oriented programs that help close achievement gaps. The Center has certified over 2,200 teachers and supports children of all abilities.
