ARTISTS WORKING IN EDUCATION

Milwaukee, WI – The mission of Artists Working in Education is to encourage a change in perception of art and creativity as a viable path to success for all. Arts programs help youth develop new ways of seeing the world, enhancing inquisitiveness, flexibility, imagination, and confidence. They do this by sponsoring professional artists to nurture the imaginations of Milwaukee youth by bringing creative visual arts experiences directly to schools, parks, libraries, and community events.

ASCENSION WISCONSIN FOUNDATION, INC.

Milwaukee, WI – Having served families with holistic care in Sheboygan, Washington, Ozaukee, and Milwaukee counties for over 170 years, this foundation is committed to serving everyone with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. To fulfill their mission, they provide hospital charity care through their comprehensive Community Benefits Program: free health clinics, free dental services, and the largest provider of school-based oral healthcare in Wisconsin.

CASA ROMERO RENEWAL CENTER, INC.

Milwaukee, WI – In honor of the values of archbishop Oscar Romero, this center’s programming centers on Milwaukee’s underprivileged groups. Their mission is achieved through four program and service areas: youth development, family enrichment, spiritual formation, and social justice awareness. Their IGNITE program offers week-long summer camps, team-building field trips, which prepares participants to break through oppressive cycles.

CATHEDRAL CENTER, INC.

Milwaukee, WI – After being officially established in 2002, the Cathedral Center is the only local shelter dedicated specifically to serving women and families experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis. Their staff — comprised of 40 skilled compassionate individuals — implement programs that include emergency shelter services, community case management, and a workforce development program. They also provide food, hygiene items, and assistance with employment.

HOPES CENTER OF RACINE, INC.

Racine, WI – Founded in 2008, Hopes Center of Racine has been serving people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness through street outreach, mental health supportive services, and housing programs. Their street outreach team goes out at night to locate, make contact, engage, and assist people living in a wide variety of unsheltered situations. Hope Center also collaborates closely with other organizations that work with people who are at risk of homelessness.

OUTREACH COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS

Milwaukee, WI – The Outreach Community Health Center has served the most vulnerable people in the Milwaukee area since 1984. Their goal is to provide health and wellness to all individuals they serve. Patients of the center have access to physicians, behavioral health psychologists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, benefits specialists, assigned case managers, and dental services. They are now operating two health clinics and an array of community-based programs offering vital safety-net services.
