BENEDICT CENTER

Milwaukee, WI — The Benedict Center is an organization that is dedicated to assisting woman that are affected by the criminal justice system. Their mission is to provide advocacy and services so that they can live healthier, safer lives for themselves, their children, and the community. Some of the programs they offer are the Women’s Reentry Program, Justice Advocacy Program, and the Sisters Program which are all designed to reward gradual, progressive, and lasting change.

BREAD OF HEALING

Milwaukee, WI — The Bread of Healing was established in 2000 and is a neighborhood-based free medical clinic. It serves uninsured, working, and low-income adults with chronic illnesses. In addition to serving as a medical home for patients, the clinic also provides a Community MedShare Program. It collaborates with other free clinics in the Milwaukee area to not only increase access to medication, but also lower the overall costs. They do this by purchasing the medicine on behalf of all the clinics in the community.

CORE-EL CENTRO

Milwaukee, WI — For over 22 years Core El Centro has been offering natural wellness healing services for children and adults of all income levels. Their mission is to enhance the health and wellness of the community by offering health services that are focused on safety, healing, empowerment, and reducing barriers to access. Their holistic approach to stress management and integrative healing includes acupuncture, massage, and holistic exercise classes.

FEAST OF CRISPIAN

Milwaukee, WI — This organization is unique in that it’s a veteran focused organization that seeks to strengthen the personal emotional resources available to military veterans and their families that are navigating trauma. They do this by bringing together professional actors with post-deployment service veterans to teach and strengthen emotional resources that veterans need to overcome traumatic and reintegration issues. The heart of this resource is collaborative theatre.

HIR WELLNESS INSTITUTE

Milwaukee, WI — The (Healing Intergenerational Roots) Wellness institute was established because of those seeking mental health services within Indigenous and historically under-invested and under-served communities. The institute is a woman and survivor-led organization that provides free occupational therapy, mental health counseling, and victim/legal advocacy services. They also provide programs for Native Boys and Men to increase their service capacity to meet the need for mental health healing.

PHILIPPINE CULTURAL CENTER & CIVIC CENTER FOUNDATION

Greenfield, WI — Established in 2000, this foundation serves the under-served in their community with its free medical clinic, community outreach, and children’s literacy program. Some of the medical services provided are well child exams, blood pressure checks, pregnancy tests, and general adult exams. Examples of community outreach include clothing distribution, educational scholarships, health fair, and ukulele lessons.
