Established in 2021, Above The Clouds provides free, faith based, arts education and training to young people ages 5 to 17. Students gain insight into the professional art world from individuals who are active in it. Their teachers act as mentors, providing feedback, personal guidance, and support, which can be crucial for artistic development. Classes offered are beginning ballet, theatre, jazz, martial arts, hip hop, modern dance, and piano.

Audio & Braile Literacy Enhancement

Audio and Braile Literacy Enhancement’s mission is to provide alternative ways for people with print disabilities to read. They began in 1965 with a small group of volunteers who transcribe textbooks for two Milwaukee area schools. In two years, the organization grew into a group of volunteers serving all of Wisconsin. Today they now transcribe print materials into quality braille and audio formats for people who are blind or print disabled with a special focus on learning materials.

Located within the Forest County Potawatomi’s Campus in the Wgemas building at 944 North 33rd Street, the Indian Council of the Elderly was formed as the result of Milwaukee’s Indian Community coming together in the early 1970’s to address the unmet needs of Indian Elders. Their goal is to reflect Native American values in meeting the spiritual, social, nutritional, and physical needs of all who participate, especially those of greatest economic need.

Founded in 1984, Make A Wish Wisconsin serves children between the ages of 2.5 and 18 who are living with a progressive, degenerative, or malignant condition that has placed the child’s life in jeopardy. At a time when a child’s illness typically places a strain on the family’s finances, Make A Wish covers the expenses, so families don’t have to worry about anything during the wish process. For Wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with treatments.
