POSITION TITLE: Business Process Analyst
SUPERVISOR: Business Solutions Supervisor


The Business Process Analyst provides business critical insight and delivers support of end-user, business and development teams through the application of functional knowledge of the departments within the government and their processes. The Business Analyst provides support, business critical insight, and process knowledge to end-users across all departments within the tribal government. This position will work on projects designed to improve business process flow and communication throughout the organization. A successful individual will demonstrate the ability to combine analytical and problem-solving skills, expertise with various applications, and effective communication to support the development process and ongoing business functions.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead discussions to gather requirements and specifications for project and process improvement/automation efforts.
  2. Create process documentation/workflows for both current and future state
  3. Conduct gap analysis and use analytical skills to identify root cause and assist with problem management
  4. Perform functional tests to ensure solution meets the business requirements
  5. Develop and provide high level user documentation and training materials
  6. Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance
  7. Define and address change management processes
  8. Issue Escalation Management process within designated programs

Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • In lieu of education requirement, FCPC will consider 3+ years of demonstrated business analysis deliverables such as requirements, workflow diagrams, and testing documentation
  • Understanding of Business Unit Alignment
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to work with management, end users, vendors and IT peers to gather requirements, break down business processes into specific steps, analyze the information and provide recommendations
  • Expertise in Visio to create process flow maps
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills are a must as well as effective listening skills
  • Experience in giving presentations
  • Experience within government operations or an environment that operate within strict compliance standards
  • Successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project
  • Knowledge of computer and network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques
