Potawatomi Traveling Times Web page!
The Potawatomi Traveling Times is dedicated to providing the voice of the Forest County Potawatomi in order to tell the FCP stories to the larger community. Established in 1995, the paper allows the departments and enterprises of the FCP Community to communicate with their audiences. The newspaper also welcomes any “letters to the editor” or any other submissions/photos that community members may wish to publish.
Winda Collins, Managing Editor

The Potawatomi Traveling Times, a free bi-monthly newspaper, distributes 5,500 newspapers to all adult FCP tribal members, and all nine Potawatomi tribes in the U.S. and Canada. We also distribute papers to all 11 Wisconsin tribes, and to public areas in Forest, Oneida, Oconto, Langlade and Milwaukee counties in Wisconsin. Our low-cost subscription rates are located in our paper and on our website. Reasonably priced retail and classified ad rates and deadlines are available on our website, or by contacting our sales representative at 715-478-7477.
Since 1995, the Traveling Times has been a member of the Native American Journalists Association (NAJA), in which we have won these awards:
• Honorable Mention for General Excellence (Twice a Month)
• Second Place for General Excellence (Twice a Month)
• Second Place for General Excellence (Internet News Site)
• Honorable Mention for Individual Print (Best News Writing Twice a Month)
• First Place for Individual Print (Best Column in a Native Publication)
The newspaper staff includes an editor, two reporter/photographers, an office manager, a sales representative/media buyer and two graphic designers.
The graphic designers create forms, brochures, posters, advertisements, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, logos, billboards and other graphics for FCP departments and the general public.
The webmaster, who is contracted through the newspaper, has created and maintains the tribal website, which is visited over a hundred times a day. FCP community events, FCP department contact information, employment opportunities, and the Traveling Times can be viewed on our website. Please contact our office if you have questions pertaining to the website.
