Economic Support Department
Forest County Economic Support department's mission is to provide assistance to tribal community members while respecting individual dignity, self-worth, and cultural considerations.
The department recognizes individual's rights for confidentiality and fair treatment by working collaboratively to establish their goals toward self-sufficiency.
This mission will be achieved by assessing each individual's situation and working with the individual to help the tribal family to obtain a desirable outcome of financial independence. We also do an assessment to review employability/family plans and work closely with the Family Resource Center for workshops and events for other family resources to Indian Child Welfare, Community Health, the FCP Health & Wellness Center or other tribal programs as needed.
The majority of the program guidelines cover the service area indicated in each program. We provided services to tribal members and to community members living on the tribal reservation and also individuals living in Forest County that have Forest County Potawatomi Children.
This program offers legal assistance to low-income families. Upon verification of income eligibility, a Judicare card is issued and a list of attorneys that accept Judicare is given to the eligible applicant.
